CERVICAL CRYOSURGERY

The cryosurgery is a treatment that destroys abnormal tissue in the cervix by freezing it. Thus, preventing cervical cancer.

How is cryosurgery performed?

Liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) flows in a catheter placed on the abnormal tissue. This freezes the tissue during 2 or 3 minutes and after being defrost, the procedure can be repeated.

Is cervical cryosurgery painful?

The cryosurgery is simple and painless. Most women feel cold and a short mild cramp. Sometimes there is a temporal hot sensation.
