TYPES OF ULTRASOUNDS
Types of Ultrasounds
In MEDUMUJER, all our ultrasounds are performed by a radiologist. Among the ultrasounds we offer:
- Obstetric ultrasound in which we can see the fetus inside the maternal womb.
- Biophysical profile (BPP) combines the ultrasound with a non-stress test (NST) to determine the well-being of a fetus during a high-risk pregnancy.
- The cervicometry is a transvaginal ultrasound that allows to assess the characteristics of the maternal cervix in prediction of premature birth risk.
- Transvaginal ultrasound is a test performed to see the uterus, ovaries, the Fallopian tubes, the cervix, and the pelvic area.
- Level III ultrasound is the one that confirms the existence of all the fetal organs, and it dismisses anomalies in the anatomic structure.
- The 3D/4D ultrasound allows to see the fetus in a similar way to a picture.
- The doppler ultrasound is in color and assesses the blood flow in any artery or vein. This one is very important for studying the umbilical cord, cerebral and cardiac circulation, as well as uterine circulation.
